Amalia is organizing this fundraiser for a coworker who is going through an unimaginable loss. After returning home from work on Saturday, Amalia’s coworker found her brother deceased at home. They were migrants living in the United States, and they only had each other here. With no other family in the country, this tragedy has left Amalia’s coworker heartbroken and facing an overwhelming situation while trying to honor her brother and support their loved ones from far away.
The funds raised will help cover the transportation of his body to Ecuador so he can be returned to his family, as well as the funeral expenses needed to give him a proper farewell and burial. During a time of such deep grief, this support will help ease some of the financial burden and bring comfort to a family facing sudden loss across borders.
