Help Bring My Brother Home
Hi, my name is Kim, and I’m reaching out during one of the hardest times in my life.
My brother, Leroy Fruth recently passed away unexpectedly while living on Prince of Wales Island in Alaska. He never married and had no children. He didn’t have any family nearby—only his lifelong friend, Josh, who was by his side. My brother was a kind soul with a simple life, living off Social Security and surrounded by the wild beauty of the place he loved most.
Now, I’m trying to bring him home to Washington, where his family can give him the love, closure, and rest he deserves.
The cost of cremation in Alaska is $3,500 alone—and that’s just the beginning. I also need to file for legal rights to handle his estate, access his bank account, and arrange for the return of his personal belongings. All of this comes with unexpected and overwhelming costs, especially on top of grieving his loss.
I’m asking for help—something I don’t do easily—because I can’t do this alone. Without donations, I simply don’t see a way to bring him back home where he belongs.
If you can contribute anything at all, no matter how small, it would mean the world to me and our family. And if you’re not able to give, please consider sharing this with others. Every bit of help counts.
Thank you for your compassion and support during this painful time.
With love and gratitude,
Kim and the rest of my family.
