Mission Harvey: One Final Mission
For 40 years, my dad, Harvey Renshaw Jr., helped send other people into space.
Now, we want to send a part of him there too.
From 1962–2002, Dad worked through an extraordinary era of America’s space program.
His career spanned Gemini, Apollo, Skylab, and the Space Shuttle.
NASA wasn’t simply where my worked. It was part of who he was.
Anyone who knew him knew that if he could have climbed aboard one of those rockets himself, he absolutely would have.
We want to honor his life and service by placing a portion of his cremated remains aboard a Celestis memorial spaceflight into Earth orbit.
For us, this isn’t simply about sending his ashes into space. It’s about completing a journey that began more than 60 years ago when a young Harvey became part of America’s race to the stars.
