It is with broken hearts that we share the devastating and senseless loss of our beloved father and grandfather, Stephen Dwayne Thomas. At just 65 years old, he was brutally murdered in his own home. While asleep on his couch, an intruder entered and attacked him in an unthinkable act of violence. The details are heartbreaking and have left our entire family in shock and grief
As we work to process this tragedy, we are now facing another difficult challenge: paying for his funeral. Stephen had a life insurance policy, but we recently learned — just days before the scheduled service — that because the policy is less than two years old, it will not cover the funeral expenses.
We had already made arrangements and set the date, unaware that the policy would be denied. Now, with a total cost of $14,000, we are struggling to come up with the funds needed to give him the dignified farewell he deserves.
