On August 23, 2026, my daughter, Genevieve Marie Fisher, passed away. She was 43 years old, and our family and community lost an extraordinary woman of service. Genevieve leaves behind her three children, Journey, Harmony, and Jaeon. This fundraiser is for them, and for the future Genevieve worked so hard to build for her children.
Genevieve spent her life running toward the hardest places. As a wildland firefighter, she walked into wildfires other people run from, and on her very last fire she achieved her dream of becoming crew boss. She was also newly ordained as both a deacon and a minister at Bethel AME, carrying her faith into every room she entered. Giving was simply Genevieve’s nature. She served her community, her church family, her friends, and so many others with love and dedication.
Now our family is coming together to carry Genevieve’s vision forward by establishing a children’s fund for Journey, Harmony, and Jaeon, to be managed by Genevieve’s twin sister, Jananda. Donations will support their education and the ongoing work of cultivating the gifts and talents already within them. This need will continue over time, and steady support can help create a lasting foundation for the opportunities Genevieve wanted for her children.
