It is so hard for me to find the words to write this. My heart is completely broken as I share that my uncle, Placido, passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack. He was so much more than my uncle. For 17 years, while my brother and I were growing up in the Philippines, Placido and my aunt helped raise us and stood in the place of parents. They gave us love, care, guidance, and a home when we needed it most. He helped shape who I am today, and I will always be grateful for everything he did for me and my brother. Placido was one of the most jolly, loving, and simple souls you could ever meet. He did not need much to be happy, and the smallest things could bring the biggest smile to his face.
Losing him so suddenly has left our family devastated, and I am still struggling to accept that he is gone. I created this fundraiser to help with my uncle Placido’s funeral and final expenses, which are especially difficult for our family to manage because of their living situation in the Philippines.
