Hi, My name is Melissa Paterson.
I am reaching out to the local community on behalf of my friend Anthony Cook aka Cookie, who has recently endured a great deal of grief and loss. Cookie has recently lost his sister Leanne Cook, as well as his Niece Ashlee Cook (Leanne’s Daughter) in the span of 6 days, both in June of 2025. As a result, He is now left with the extremely difficult situation of having to organise and fund 2 seperate funerals in their honour.
Leanne was a loving mother to son Scott and daughter Ashlee, as well as grandmother to a beautiful grandson. Leanne was also a loving fiance to Rob and sister to James and Anthony. She had many health complications, some of which involving bowel cancer and Kidney disease. As a result, Leanne was put on Dialysis permanently, however, she later succumbed to kidney disease after her machines were turned off in hospital. Leanne passed away peacefully on 03/06/2025. Leanne was in her early 50’s.
Leanne’s illness took its toll on daughter Ashlee, who also had many health complications herself. Ashlee was born with down syndrome, however, defied all odds after being told she wouldn’t make it to 3 years of age. Ashlee lived an adventurous life, however, experienced a great deal of grief due to witnessing her mother’s health decline. Ashlee passed peacefully in her sleep on 10/06/2025, 7 days after her mum Leanne. Ashlee was in her late 20’s.
Anyone who know’s Cookie will know that he doesn’t ask for anything off anyone, and would help anyone in need. Cookie is now up for over $20,000 in funeral expenses, which he simply cannot afford. I am reaching out to all of Cookie’s friends and family, to try and gather as much financial support as I can, to help ease the burden of pending costs to have his sister and niece laid to rest.
