Es difícil pensar que no tendremos la oportunidad de ver los sueños y planes de Erik convertirse en realidad. Hoy, Erik fue llamado al cielo.
Mi nombre es Alfonso, y es uno de los grandes tesoros de mi vida haber conocido a Erik durante más de un año en el ministerio juvenil de la Iglesia Católica de la Inmaculada Concepción. Erik Rojas ha sido y seguirá siendo una inspiración en mi servicio de la pastoral juvenil. No tengo palabras para expresar el sentimiento de gratitud a Dios por la bendición de ser testigo y ver cómo el Espíritu Santo ha obrado a través de Erik. El, no era de los que hacían ruido y armaban un gran alboroto. En cambio, marcó la diferencia en nuestras vidas al trabajar duro, mantenerse humilde, ser justo y pensar siempre en los demás. No le resultaba difícil servir en silencio y amar con generosidad.
A través de Erik, Dios nos recuerda que, al igual que Jeremías, la edad no es excusa para compartir la palabra, el amor, la sencillez, la compasión, la humildad y la dedicación al pueblo de Dios. Hoy perdemos a un gran amigo, a un compañero, a un hermano, a un hijo, a un miembro de nuestra familia terrenal, pero al mismo tiempo ganamos un amigo en el cielo, que rezará por nosotros y con el que nos reuniremos algún día. ¡La Familia te recuerda con amor y gratitud, Erik!
In Memory of Erik Rojas: A Beacon of Faith and Love
It’s hard to think that we won’t have the chance to see Erik’s dreams and plans become a reality. Today, Erik was called to heaven.
My name is Alfonso, and it is one of my life’s great treasures to have known Erik for more than a year with the youth ministry at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Erik Rojas has been and will continue to be an inspiration in the youth ministry service. I have no words to express the feeling of thankfulness to God for the blessing of being a witness and seeing how the Holy Spirit has worked through Erik. He wasn’t one to be loud and make a big fuss. Instead, he made a difference in our lives by working hard, staying humble, being fair, and always thinking of others. It wasn’t difficult for him to quietly serve and love generously.
Through Erik, God reminds us that, like Jeremiah, age is no excuse to share the word, love, simplicity, compassion, humility, and dedication to God’s people. Today we lose a great friend, a companion, a brother, a son, a member of our earthly family, but at the same time we gain a friend in heaven, who will pray for us and with whom we should reunite one day. La Familia remembers you with love and gratitude, Erik!
