Kenneth Dean Bowler passed away peacefully on May 25, 2025, in Mesa, Arizona, after a brief illness. He was 63 years old.
Ken was born on May 14, 1962, in Cedar City, Utah, to Elwood Holt Bowler and Lorna Jones Bowler. He spent his early childhood in Cedar City before the family moved to Gunlock and later settled in St. George. Ken attended Dixie High School, where he made lasting friendships and developed a lifelong love of music.
Growing up, Ken enjoyed time spent at the horse races, cheering on the family’s racehorse, Tom Boy Bob. He worked hard helping on the ranch in Gunlock and at the family’s western wear store in St. George.
Ken had a wide array of passions and talents. He was a gifted guitarist and played in several bands with friends over the years, using music as a joyful outlet and a way to connect with others. He was also an exceptional cook, known for bringing people together with his meals.
Ken had a deep love for the outdoors. He found freedom in windsurfing, joy in arrowhead hunting, and peace exploring nature’s quiet places. Whether skimming across the water or scouring desert landscapes for ancient artifacts, Ken thrived when he was outside, immersed in the natural world.
He also had a sharp technical mindskilled in drafting, welding, and building structures, Ken took pride in work that was both creative and precise. A lifelong NASCAR fan, he never missed a race and faithfully cheered on Kevin Harvick, his favorite driver.
Above all, Ken adored his children. They meant the world to him, and he took great pride in the people they have become.
Ken was preceded in death by his father, Elwood Holt Bowler; his sister, Lornell Bowler; and his brother, Steven Elwood Bowler. He is survived by his beloved children: Jacob Bowler (Trish), Neisha Demmert (Samson), Alyce Bowler, and Saije Bowler; and by his cherished grandchildren: Mason, Embry, Harper, Koi, and Ivor. He is also survived by his mother, Lorna Muir; and his siblings: Randall Holt Bowler (Tanna, deceased), Charles Bowler (Barbara), Dena Simister (James), Eric Muir, step sisters Wendy Smith (Kevin), and Stacy Webb.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 21, at the J.C. Snow Park west pavilion, 300 E 900 S, St. George, Utah, in conjunction with a celebration of life and the 90th birthday of his mother, Lorna, at 11:00 am. Please feel free to bring a picnic lunch.

Ken will be remembered for his kind heart, adventurous spirit, and deep love for his family. His music, stories, and the trails he walked will echo on in the hearts of all who knew him.
