I am devastated by the loss of my beloved big brother, Kenny. For the last eight months, Kenny had been living abroad in Japan, and it has been nothing short of traumatic. It’s been a heart-shattering journey, and despite my relentless efforts to secure the help he needed, I was unable to save him. My brother faced battles that no one could see, and tragically, he lost his fight to the darkness. The pain of his suicide has left an unfillable void in my heart.
Now, I find myself in a situation that no sibling should ever have to endure—I’m faced with the daunting task of fighting against time and distance to ensure bringing his remains back to where they belong—home. The costs associated with this are substantially overwhelming… I’m on my own in this. I am seeking your support during this desperate time to help cover international emergency expenses. Your contributions will be used to cover the costs of international air travel, legal documents, and repatriation services. Any donations that remain will be donated to The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention of Alabama. More than anything, it gives a little sister one last opportunity to say farewell to her big brother—the brother who, as kids, was everything to me. He was my hero, and I’ll forever see him through that lens.
Please, if you can, help me bring my brother home. If you are unable to donate, but still want to help, please consider sharing this post or passing the link along to your network of people! Thank you for your kindness and support. Your generosity means the world to me and will provide a sense of closure during this unimaginable time.
With gratitude & sorrow,
Ashley
