Mom. A word I’ve spoken throughout my entire life. A simple word, yet one that I’ll cherish for all the times I’ve had the blessing to say.
My name is Bobby White and on June 4th, 2025, at 6:25 p.m., my mother, Joetta Marie Withrow, passed away from her battle with heart failure. She was surrounded by family and loved ones, and as we held her hand, told her how much we love her, and watched her take her final breath, I knew that things would never be the same.
They say the brightest flame burns quickest, and there isn’t a better quote considering she was a true light in the dark. Throughout her battle with heart problems over the years, she remained the most selfless person I’ve ever known, putting everyone else first. She touched everyone’s lives so greatly and left an impact on so many people. Growing up, everyone I’ve known referred to her as Mom, or the best friend they’ve ever had. She had the ability to make you feel like the only person in the room. She lifted so many spirits, and even in the hardest of times had a huge smile, a soft voice, and a positive attitude.
My mother was always extremely hard-working, with a work ethic like no other, but due to heart problems, she became disabled and on a fixed income. As heart problems progressed, so did bills and expenses. We used every dime to keep her with us as long as possible and I would give anything for just one more moment, but unfortunately, the financial hardship has left the family unable to afford the funeral services. Life insurance policies were declined due to how severe her heart problems became. I am asking for donations so my family can give back to someone who has given us so much, and make it a service and memorial that is as beautiful as her.
