Honoring Candelario Duran’s Memory

My name is Yeny, and I am reaching out during one of the most difficult times in my life. On June 8, 2025, I lost my father, Candelario Duran. He was not only a wonderful dad but also a loving grandfather and a true friend to many. After my mother passed away, my father raised me as a single parent, always putting my needs and my son’s needs first. Even as he faced his own health challenges, including early signs of dementia, he remained a constant source of support and care for our family.

Some of my fondest memories are of my father enjoying his coffee with conchas, sitting outside to greet neighbors, and sharing stories from his life in Mexico. He loved playing the lottery, watching his favorite novelas, and always had a smile for everyone. His kindness extended to every person and animal he met, and he truly made our community a warmer place.

Recently, my father suffered a fall and was hospitalized, and we are still awaiting answers about his passing. I am an only child, and as I navigate this loss, I am struggling to cover the costs of his cremation, a memory service, transportation, and the many fees that come with saying goodbye. Any support you can offer will help us honor my father’s memory and provide him with the respectful farewell he deserves.
