We are coming up on 4 years since our dad, William Baker, and our son, Scobey John, took their journey to the stars. We are planning on one last memorial for them during the Poplar Indian Days Celebration over the weekend of August 28th-31st.
We would like to honor our dad’s memory with a Men’s 40 years and older Northern Traditional contest. This was dad’s style when he danced. Some of our best memories are the times he would be dancing on the side, hollering around in support while SJ danced for us all.
In honor of Scobey John’s memory, we are planning on a singing contest. He loved the drum, singing, and dancing. He absolutely loved Powwow life. For SJ, it really was a celebration that he gave his whole heart to.
We will be doing additional fundraising throughout the summer to meet our goals. Everything raised will go towards their 4-year memorial.
