Honoring George Wheaton’s Legacy

Main fundraiser photo
My name is Cyrus, and I am raising funds to honor my father, George Wheaton, known as Blackey in Liberia. My father’s life was a remarkable journey—he was born and raised in Liberia, where his mother was a first cousin to the country’s 1980 president. Later, he moved to the United States, where he worked for the state of New York until his retirement. After retiring, he returned to Africa, where he passed away.

I was born in Liberia and came to the United States when I was six years old. My father’s passing has left a deep void in our family, and I am committed to honoring his memory in a way that respects our cultural traditions. I am seeking support to travel to Africa and build his grave, as this is a time-sensitive need rooted in our family’s heritage. Your help will allow me to give my father the respectful farewell he deserves and bring closure to our family during this difficult time. Any support is deeply appreciated as I work to fulfill this important tradition.
