With heavy hearts, we, the family of Lester Smith, are reaching out to ask for your prayers, support, and any assistance you can offer as we prepare to lay our loved one to rest.
Lester was more than his circumstances — he was a beloved son, father, nephew, cousin, and friend. Tragically, on Monday, June 2, 2025, he was murdered inside Telfair Prison in Georgia — a facility that has seen far too many lives lost and where safety often feels like a privilege, not a right.
While Lester was serving time for a past mistake, that mistake did not define the man he was. He was deeply loved by his family, and despite everything, we never gave up on him — and he never stopped fighting to become better. His life still mattered. And now, we’re left to grieve a loss that no family should ever have to endure.
We are humbly asking for help as we navigate this heartbreaking time. Anything you can give — whether a donation, a prayer, or a share — will help us honor Lester’s memory and give him the proper goodbye he deserves.
Thank you for your compassion.
